Labo Apartments is located in Tropea, in the province of Vibo Valentia, which covers an area of about 3.2 km2 and stands on a promontory between the Gulfs of Gioia and S.Eufemia.
Tropea has been awarded several times over the past 20 years, receiving zero-cost visibility, which has contributed to the growth of the Calabrian tourist resort:

The origins of the city are shrouded in legend. It is said that Hercules, resting on this cliff on his return from Spain, named it Tropea in honour of his nurse Juno and thus became one of Hercules' Ports.
Others say it was founded by Scipio Africanus or Sextus Pompey, who brought their trophies here after fighting and winning.
Many finds, in fact, testify to settlements dating back 3000 years before Christ and indicate Tropea as being part of Magna Graecia. Because of its position and beauty, it was always a city contended for and favoured by emperors, kings and rulers who succeeded one another over time. Justinian, in 535, ordered his general Belisarius to fortify the town with walls that can still be seen today on the eastern side of the city.
Due to its characteristic position as a terrace overlooking the sea, Tropea played an important role, both in Roman times and later under the Saracen occupation and, even more so, under the Normans and the Aragonese. Discovered by illustrious travellers over the past centuries, it has enjoyed considerable notoriety throughout the world for its extraordinary natural and architectural beauty, in fact, it has been brought to attention by being called the 'Pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea'.
Tropea overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea and is the pivotal point of the so-called Costa degli Dei. It is laid out on two levels: the upper part built on a rocky outcrop and the lower part, the Marina, from which to explore the entire coastline. The beach can be reached by several flights of steps that connect the centre of Tropea with the sea.
The sea in Tropea boasts shallow waters on the shore and a total clarity that allows it to take on the most beautiful Caribbean colours. The beaches are of fine white sand.
The Spiaggia della Rotonda, bordered by the San Leonardo rock, is one of the most beautiful beaches in Tropea and is also the most famous because it is located under the rock where the historic centre is located.
The Spiaggia del Convento (Convent Beach) owes its name to the Convent that overlooks this coastline, a place of interest for snorkelling enthusiasts.
Spiaggia 'a Linguata is one of its largest beaches and is bordered to the left by Isola and to the right by Scogli I Missaggi, an area of interest to divers.
Twice a year, the unique spectacle of the sunset over Stromboli, called 'I Tramonti di Ulisse', is visible from Tropea: 12/13/14 April and 26/27/28 August.

Tropea is one of the most popular tourist destinations for tourists on holiday in Calabria, attracted not only by its enchanting beaches, coves and cliffs but also by its historic centre and splendid monuments.
The territory of the city of Tropea can be divided into two levels: the upper part that corresponds with the historic centre and a lower part that lies at the foot of the stronghold and close to the crystal-clear sea. The old part of the town sits on a terrace overlooking the sea, where the small island with the Church of Santa Maria dell'Isola rises in front. Existing since the year 370 A.D. of Basilian origin, rebuilt in the Gothic period, for centuries it was the refuge of hermits and sailors, as it was previously not connected to the mainland.
The old town centre is rich in churches from various eras and charming aristocratic palaces that house rich treasures and precious urban furnishings in excellent condition. Everything is enclosed in a labyrinth of narrow alleys that open up into beautiful little squares and suddenly overlook the sea below.
In addition to its important historical centre and its beautiful sea, Tropea is world-famous for the PGI Tropea Red Onion. The Tropea onion is characterised by a much sweeter taste because it has a higher sugar content. In fact, it has a much lower pyruvic acid content, which makes them much less aggressive and pungent and lets the natural sugars shine through.
Tropean gastronomy is based on products from the immediate hinterland and the sea. There are many typical dishes, among which the 'fileja' or handmade pasta, the 'pitta di ninnata' and fried 'surici' stand out.
Venturing into the historic centre, one discovers small workshops of well-known craftsmen in wood, iron, textiles and terracotta. But also small shops run by local farmers who sell typical local products from their farms such as olive oil, wine, sweets, fresh eggs, dried and seasonal fruit, wicker baskets, spicy salami such as the famous 'Nduja', the red onions of Tropea with all its derivatives such as jam, and many other products of high Calabrian gastronomy.

In addition to the Patronal Festival on 9 September, Tropea offers numerous events, especially during the summer.
Every Saturday throughout the year, the typical district market is held; in particular, on 23 March each year, there is the typical Annunziata Fair, a large market that extends throughout the streets of Tropea.
Definitely not to be missed is the festival of 'I tri da cruci', which refers to different moments in Tropea's history and is held on 3 May with 'The Camel Dance', followed by bonfires, fireworks and dancing to a delirious rhythm.
The International Popular Culture Festival 'Cultures in Confrontation', with groups from all over the world, and Teatro D'aMare, the Contemporary Theatre Festival, are held in the summer.
Every year at mid-August, the traditional procession on the sea of the Madonna dell'Isola takes place.
In August, traditional Sagre (festivals) are held throughout Calabria, linked to rural and culinary culture.
Highly anticipated in the same month is the Tropea Onion Party, an event of food, art and music, as well as the Tropea Film Festival, while between September and October, the renowned Tropea Blues Festival takes place in the historic centre.
